The first 60 seconds

The way you open a session sets the tone for everything that follows. Four small moves, repeated every time, do most of the work:

  1. Bring the energy. Show up genuinely excited to see them. Smile, sit forward, mean it.
  2. Say their name. A name said with care is the shortest path to trust. Use it in the first sentence, pronounced the way they say it.
  3. Set the stage. Camera on, mic clear, slide up, chat norms named out loud. A room they can step into.
  4. Make it personal. Ask about their week. Remember what they told you last time. A small moment of connection is the foundation everything else stands on.

What we are testing

A few things we want your read on once the video is live:

  • Does the video feel like a polished training moment, or like a placeholder?
  • Are the controls obvious - play, pause, scrub, fullscreen?
  • Would you actually rewatch this between sessions, or is it a one-and-done?
